I. Evolution of registration activities
Changes experienced in terms of application filings and registrations with respect to the previous year

II. Matters concerning the generation, reproduction, and distribution of secondary sources of trademark information, i.e., trademark gazettes
Tajik patent office publishes the Official Bulletin “Навиди Патенти” (Official Gazette) witch contains official information on inventions, industrial designs, trademarks, service marks, registered in the State Register as well as information on their legal status. Trademark information is published in the Official Gazette in Russian and comprises bibliographic data and representations. Information about 355 trademarks was published in 2004.
Bibliographical data of trademarks are preserved under WIPO standard in machine-readable form and in paper copies.
The Official Gazette is transmitted to the State Patent and Technical Library.
III. Matters concerning classifying, reclassifying and indexing of trademark information
Tajik patent office uses International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (Nice Classification) and International Classification of the figurative Elements of Marks (Vienna Classification), other classification(s) is (are) not used.
IV. Trademark manual search file establishment and upkeep
The search of trademark information in the database of Tajik patent office is made automatically on bibliographical data and key words. The search is implemented also on trademark international database ROMARIN.
V. Activities in the field of computerized trademark search systems
The activity on development of the local network of Tajik patent office has been continued in 2004, there is now a possibility for search in Internet. The automatic system ROMARIN is also used for search purposes.

Equipment and software used by Tajik patent office: personal computers Pentium Class, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Fox-Pro for Windows, Windows NT, Visual Fox-Pro, Internet Explorer 4, Internet Explorer 5.
VI. Administration of trademark services available to the public (relating to facilities, e.g., for lodging applications, registering trademarks, assisting clients with search procedures, obtaining official publications and registry extracts)
The activity on completing of the State Patent and Technical Library patent fund has been continued. This fund consists of patent information of national and regional patent offices of foreign countries and includes official bulletins in paper and electronic format on CD ROM. The search in Internet is possible too.
VII. Matters concerning mutual exchange of trademark documentation and information
Tajik patent office realizes the interchange by Official Gazettes with 10 foreign countries and 13 CIS countries.
In 2004 Tajik patent office sent 4 issues of Official Gazettes “НАВИДИ ПАТЕНТИ”.
VIII. Matters concerning education and training including technical assistance to developing countries
Specialists of Tajik patent office take part in international seminars and training courses on intellectual property issues.
Interuniversity department “Industrial property” implements the teaching of university students and researchers in the field of industrial property.
IX. Other relevant matters
