The IPO CZ continued to fulfil its responsibilities arising from the Czech Republic's membership in the European Union, particularly in the area of industrial property rights protection. It participated in meetings of the EU Working Party on Intellectual Property where one of the key topics discussed was the so-called patent package. This package consists of six regulations concerning standard essential patents (SEPs), Union compulsory licences and supplementary protection certificates (SPCs). The IPO CZ also continued to meet its commitments in the area of industrial property protection stemming from the Czech Republic’s membership in multilateral international treaties to which the Czech Republic is a contracting party.
