I. GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN TRADEMARK INFORMATION ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE

In 2024, The US Trademark Office transitioned away from its legacy systems, adopting a modern architecture based on microservices to enhance support for key functions such as Trademark Filing, Examination, Content and Database Management, Madrid Protocol and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Communication between components is done using RESTful services calls. The TM-COM services act as the core services, enabling other parts of the Trademark system to access common data from the Trademark database.
II. SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES RELATED TO TRADEMARK INFORMATION CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE
Information on the following topics is desired:
Trademark Status and Documents Retrieval (TSDR) a public website provides status information and documents for pending and registered trademarks. TSDR also displays information contained in the USPTO records regarding international registrations and applications for international registration filed under the Madrid system through the United States.
TEAS/Trademark Center is modernized one-stop shop for Trademark applicants/attorneys to provide an end-to-end trademark filing experience:
- File a new trademark application and pay application-related fees
- Respond to office actions
- Perform post registration activities
- File appeals and petitions
- Change of assignments
Trademark search system is cloud-based system, which provides a modern, more stable Trademark search experience and is updated on a daily basis.
III. SOURCES OF TRADEMARK INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE OFFICE

Trademark search system provides the capability to query data in Trademark Records Management (TRM) database.
USPTO Open Data Portal provides the capability to download Trademark data in XML format.
