What are the qIDs indicated for language dependent free text qualifiers and should they be numbered sequentially?
The qID is automatically generated by WIPO Sequence to identify language dependent free text qualifiers so that when a translation is provided the source and target languages are appropriately matched. They can be even or odd numbers (after the ‘q’) and do not need to be sequential. It is only important that the qID values are unique to each qualifier. On the whole they can be ignored by users of the tool unless there is a conflict for qID values reported during validation.
