I. GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN PATENT INFORMATION ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE
Information on the following topics is desired:
In 2023,CNIPA officially launched the China Patent Intelligent Examination and Retrieval System (i-system), which provides higher-quality support for patent business. In 2024, CNIPA carried out a series of optimizations, adaptation modifications, and the launch of new functions for i-system; we have been continuously paying attention to the application of artificial intelligence and other new technologies, conducting pre-research on the application of large model technology in the field of patents, and exploring the application of large model technology in examination work.
In 2024, CNIPA completed the construction of the National Intellectual Property Public Service Platform. A unified portal was built to integrate the entry points of four types of intellectual property business systems, namely patents, trademarks, integrated circuit layout designs, and geographical indications, providing services such as search and query, business processing, publication and announcement, result delivery, administrative law enforcement, protection monitoring for patents, trademarks, geographical indications, and integrated circuit layout designs. This system realized the "one-stop" processing of intellectual property business and the "one-stop" query of intellectual property information.

Information on the following topics is desired:
CNIPA continuously optimized the patent business processing system in 2024. In line with relevant changes of laws and regulations, the web version and client version of the patent business processing system have been optimized and upgraded, with new functions such as case management added to the web version, and functions such as action check lists added to the client version; mobile apps have been launched for account management, payment service; the system has been equipped with SMS and email reminders for electronic notification of some business processes; and new prompts have been added and optimized on the web version and client version for new applications, bibliographic changes(in batch) changes.
The general public can use China and Global Patent Examination Information Inquiry service at Patent Business Processing System to access to the patent application data including basic information, examination information, cost information, reexamination & invalidation information, register information, family patent. The website is available in 8 languages UIs. In December 2024, the system was upgraded to enable the real-time conversion of CNIPA's legal status data into legal status data that conforms to WIPO ST.27 standards. The public can now use the system to query real-time legal status information of Chinese patents that meets ST.27 standards.
III. SOURCES OF PATENT INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE OFFICE
Information on the following topics is desired:
The types of patent publication include: 1) Bibliographic items, abstracts and drawings attached to the abstract of the published invention patents, corrected bibliographic items, abstracts, drawings attached to the abstract and corresponding offprint (including corrections). 2) Transaction data.
Types of announcements include: 1) Bibliographic items, abstracts, drawings attached to the abstract of granted invention patents and granted utility model patents, the corrected bibliographic items, abstracts, drawings attached to the abstract and the corresponding offprint (including corrections). 2) Transaction data.
Release frequency: twice a week in CNIPA official website: "China Patent Announcement - Patent Bulletin inquiry" .
See Section IV for the information of internal patent database for examiners
The legal status information available to the examiners comes from the data of China Patent Affairs Bulletin, which has been standardized and processed in xml format, covering the data of China Patent Affairs Bulletin since 1985. Examiners can search a specific case and inquire its legal status by application number or public number in the search system.
The information services provided to the public include: 1. Patent Search and Analysis Service, free of charge, covers patent data worldwide. Address: https://pss-system.cponline.cnipa.gov.cn
2. Chinese and Global Patent Examination Information Inquiry service in Patent Business Processing System, free of charge. Address: https://cpquery.cponline.cnipa.gov.cn.
IV. ICT SUPPORT TO SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES RELATED TO PATENT INFORMATION CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE
Information on the following topics is desired:
Our i system covers patent business types such as invention, utility model and PCT international, and runs through the whole process of application, acceptance, examination, reexamination and invalidation, etc. It uses modern information technology such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and microservices, and takes intelligent assisted examination and automatic search assistance as the core. It has realized core functions such as intelligent search, online translation, drawing recognition, application quality monitoring, and fine-grained examination cycle management, and has comprehensively improved the centralization, intelligence, and facilitation of transaction processing, patent examination, and public services.
CNIPA has the patent search system for inventions and utility models specially for the internal use of examiners, including the search database for inventions and utility models. The database covers the invention patent and non-patent literature data of China since 1985 and the patent and non-patent literature data obtained from other countries, regions or organizations in xml or pdf format. Examiners can search by application number, applicant, publication number, invention name, classification number, semantic, etc. The search results can be viewed as plain text or full images.
As regards to the hardware, we use cloud computing hardware architecture, which organically combines cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and other information technologies with examination business scenarios to support digitalization and intelligentization of business procedures.
V. PROMOTION ACTIVITIES AIMED TO SUPPORT USERS IN ACCESS AND EFFICIENT USE OF PATENT INFORMATION
Information on the following topics is desired:
In 2024 CNIPA strengthened the supply of data resources. We promoted the full opening of basic data such as patents, increase the types of open data to 60, and provide basic data public download services to the public through the intellectual property data resource public service system. We also provided standardized data to 45 research institutions, intellectual property service agencies, and enterprises on a targeted basis. Applicants can access the patent information through the patent search and analysis service and the China and multiple countries patent examination information query service of the patent business processing system.
Plus, CNIPA promoted the analysis and utilization of intellectual property information. We formulated the intellectual property data usage manual and open directory to increase the awareness and convenience of the public in understanding and obtaining intellectual property data. We realized the construction of "AI+" intellectual property information service application scenarios to facilitate the opening and utilization of intellectual property information. We released excellent cases of intellectual property information services and promoted the achievements of information analysis and utilization. We held Patent Search and Analysis Competition for property public service institutions to enhance the ability of intellectual property information services

VIII. OTHER RELATED MATTERS
Please include any other relevant information here.
1.Classification is allotting one or more classification symbols (e.g., IPC symbols) to a patent application, either before or during search and examination, which symbols are then published with the patent application.
2. Preclassification is allotting an initial broad classification symbol (e.g., IPC class or subclass, or administrative unit) to a patent application, using human or automated means for internal administrative purposes (e.g., routing an application to the appropriate examiner). Usually preclassification is applied by the administration of an office.
3. Reclassification is the reconsideration and usually the replacement of one or more previously allotted classification symbols to a patent document, following a revision and the entry into force of a new version of the Classification system (e.g., the IPC). The new symbols are available on patent databases.
