Public trademark information regarding policies and plans is published on the China Trademark Office website of the China National Intellectual Property Administration via Link (https://sbj.cnipa.gov.cn/sbj/index.html). During the 2025 National Intellectual Property Publicity Week, the Trademark Office of China branch venue event was held under the framework of the China National Intellectual Property Administration Open Day. This initiative aimed to enhance communication and engagement with stakeholders. Additionally, the 2024 Annual Typical Cases of Trademark Opposition and Review were released to provide case-based legal interpretation of trademark opposition and review procedures to relevant parties.
In the second half of the year, an Annual Trademark Awareness Campaign is planned to educate stakeholders on trademark policies and regulations, as well as practical knowledge regarding trademark application and registration procedures.

In 2024, during the National Intellectual Property Publicity Week: The Trademark Office branch venue event of the China National Intellectual Property Administration Open Day was held. The 2023 Annual Typical Cases of Trademark Opposition and Review were released. The annual trademark awareness campaign was conducted in Zhejiang Province of China.

In 2023, the number of registered trademark reached 4,382,714. In 2024, the number of registered trademark was 4,780,731.

Trademark registration electronic archives are preserved permanently through both online and offline methods, with regular backups maintained. Data security is ensured via measures including data backup and remote disaster recovery systems. External parties may access relevant archives through archive inquiry services, as specified in the regulations available at the following link: https://sbj.cnipa.gov.cn/sbj/sbsq/sqzn/201811/t20181115_589.html.

- Classification and reclassification activities; classification systems used, e.g., International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (Nice Classification), International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks (Vienna Classification), other classification
China, as a member of the Nice Union, adopts the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (the Nice Classification). The Trademark Office groups similar goods and services based on the Nice Classification and incorporates additional goods and services commonly used in China to formulate the Classification Table of Similar Goods and Services. The Nice Classification is revised annually, and the Classification Table is accordingly adjusted.
- Use of electronic classification systems and pre-defined terms of the classification applied
Applicants submitting applications via the Trademark Online Service System may utilize the e-Good Classification System for digital submission of goods/services items. They may also access the publicly accessible list of pre-approved goods and services items through the trademark search portal on the China Trademark Office Website.
- Matters concerning processing of different types of non-traditional marks (e.g., three-dimensional, motion, hologram, color mark, etc.)
Under China's current Trademark Law, the types of non-traditional marks currently accepted include three-dimensional marks, color combinations, and sound marks. For three-dimensional mark applications: the applicant shall declare this in the application; shall specify the usage method in the "Trademark Description" section of the Trademark Registration Application; must submit drawings clearly defining the 3D form, including at least three orthographic views. For color combination applications: the applicant shall declare this in the application; shall provide a written description in the "Trademark Description" section specifying color codes and usage method; the trademark representation must consist of color blocks showing the combination pattern or outlines indicating color placement. Note: Such outlines are not components of the mark and must be depicted with broken lines, not solid lines. For sound mark applications: The applicant shall declare this in the application; shall describe the sound mark in the graphic display area; must submit a compliant sound sample; shall explain the usage method in the "Trademark Description" section.

The service provides external stakeholders with access to trademark information retrieval and download capabilities. Members of the public may register as online users to: Query trademark basic information, procedural status, gazette announcements, certification documents, examination/opposition decisions, and review rulings/decisions; download basic information datasets and related documentation.

The trademark online query system provides basic trademark information queries, including trademark status (valid/invalid) and trademark status icons. The trademark registration certificate disclosure system provides trademark certification document queries, including certification document status (valid/invalid).

IV. ICT SUPPORT TO SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES RELATED TO TRADEMARK INFORMATION CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE

The China Trademark Office currently utilizes internally commissioned software to support trademark examination and adjudication processes. This system achieves end-to-end electronic processing of trademark registration procedures—from application filing to official document issuance. The system was deployed as a monolithic application with a Browser/Server (B/S) architecture and our office is developing a next-generation platform scheduled for deployment this year (2025) with modern big data technologies and smart system integration.
- Hardware used to supporting business processes of the Office
The primary hardware currently in use consists of rack-mount servers.
- Internal databases: coverage, updates, interlinks with external sources
The internal data primarily comprises: Trademark application records and associated documentation; Procedural information, examination conclusions, and interim documentation from the review process. All updated in real time. Currently, no external legal resources are utilized.
- Establishment and maintenance of electronic search file: file building, updating, storage, documents from other offices included in the search file
Currently, documents issued by other offices are excluded from the search file.
- Administrative management electronic systems (register, legal status, statistics, and administrative support)
Currently, our system has register, legal status, data statistics sharing and other functions, and provides partial data support to gjzwfw.www.gov.cn and other platforms.
