As to the restriction about the number of words, Japanese does not fit the restriction in ST.12/A. Also, JPO has no provision for chemicals. JPO has no plan to  comply with ST.12A.

Although CWS officially adopted ST.26 at its reconvened 4th session held in March 2016, it also requested that each office postpone the prepartion for the implementation of ST.26 until the proposal on the migration from ST.25 to ST.26 was agreed on at the next CWS session in 2017. Responding to this request, JPO does not implement ST.26 and employs ST.25 instead for now.
