NIIP uses International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (Nice Classification), International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks (Vienna Classification).

The WIPO website and the website: www.MKTU.info are used as electronic sources of systems of classification.

The main source of information on industrial designs registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan is Industrial Property Official Gazette, which is published monthly in Kazakh and Russian. NIIP also issues the Annual Index to the Official Gazette, the monthly CD and the quarterly scientific and practical magazine "Intellectual property of Kazakhstan".

IV. ICT SUPPORT TO SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES RELATED TO TRADEMARK INFORMATION CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE

When a design application is received all information on it is entered into the national Industrial designs database. The information is updated in the course of office procedures.
• Storage, including mass storage media
Information on registered trademarks, including bibliographic data, descriptions are stored on CD-ROMs as well as on paper carriers and since 2012 on NIIP official website www.kazpatent.kz.
• Documentation from other offices maintained and/or considered part of the available search file
Examiners also use WIPO Gazette of International Marks for examination purposes.
Hardware used to supporting business processes of the Office
• Equipment used (hardware, including the types of terminal and network used, and software), data carriers used
Hardware: system block P4 Core2Duo 1,8GHz, 160 HDD, 526 Mb, DVD-RW, video 128, m/k, LAN. Software: WINDOWS, Microsoft Office 2003, FOX PRO.
Internal databases: coverage, updates, interlinks with external sources
The examiners use international databases ROMARIN and MADRID EXPRESS as well as database of World Health Organization MEDNET.
Establishment and maintenance of electronic search file: file building, updating, storage, documents from other offices included in the search file

Automated Information System AIS NIIP automates and simplifies the work, the prosecution of these documents and the organization of electronic documents between Services of the Institute.
V. PROMOTION ACTIVITIES AIMED TO SUPPORT USERS IN ACCESS AND EFFICIENT USE OF TRADEMARK INFORMATION
Office’s library (if deals with trademark information): equipment, collection management, network of libraries in the country, cooperation with foreign libraries
Republican patent fund is generated at the Republican Scientific Technical Library (RSTL).
Currently it comprises more than 21 million patent documents from 50 countries and three organizations - WIPO, EPO and EAPO.
Publications related to different business procedures and trademark information sources available to users, for example, books, brochures, Internet publications, etc.
At the NIIP's Branch Office Databases Patents of Kazakhstan: Bibliography, Patents of Kazakhstan: Full descriptions and Database Patents of Kazakhstan: Abstracts are generated, which are then recorded on optical disks and distributed around Kazakhstan and abroad.
Topic «Сұрақ-жауап» (on Kazakh), «Вопрос-Ответ» (on Russian) operates on a site where applicants can get answers to their questions. http://www.kazpatent.kz/index.php?lang=rus&uin=1208952107.
Also every year by e-mail increases the interaction between users and NIIP.
VI. INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ACTIVITIES IN THE FIELD OF TRADEMARK INFORMATION

There is used an on-line automated system for search procedures, which includes information on trademarks filed with NIIP.
• External databases
The examiners use international databases ROMARIN and MADRID EXPRESS as well as database of World Health Organization MEDNET.
• Administrative management systems (e.g., register, legal status, statistics and administrative support)

International exchange of trademark information in machine-readable form (e.g., Official Gazettes)
675, including optical disks with patent information, were received in 2012 from foreign patent offices. The exchange of patent information is carried out on paper as well as optical carriers.
Participation in international or regional activities and projects related to trademark information
From 5 to 8 of November, 2013 the Federal Institute of Industrial Property of the Russian Federation held a training for management experts examination of inventions and utility models RSE "NIIP": Alia Khudaybergenova - Senior Expert in the field of Pharmacy and Medicine, Zhanar Omarova - Senior Expert in the field of Engineering and Mechanics, Dana Alimzhanova - Senior Expert in the field of Biotechnology and Veterinary Medicine.
On 13-15 of November, 2013 in of Geneva (Switzerland) held a training seminar for national management agencies of the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks, which was attended by Asemgul Kazieva, Senior Expert of Direction on Examination of Trademarks and Appellations of Origin of the RSE "NIIP".
On 2-15 of December, 2013, Deputy Director of RSE “NIIP” Saule Zhussupbekova participated in the international educational program on intellectual property rights for women from Central Asia, which was carried out by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the World Association of Women in Seoul, Republic of Korea .
On 3-4 of December, 2013 in Seoul (South Korea) was held the International Symposium on the work of Hague and Madrid systems in the Seoul international conference in the field of trademarks and industrial designs, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Korean Patent Office. The symposium was attended Head of Direction on Examination of Industrial Designs of the RSE "NIIP" Ayagul Abitbekova.
On 7-14 of December, 2013 in Danang (Socialist Republic of Vietnam) hosted the fourth round of negotiations on an agreement on free trade zone between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the countries of the Customs Union which was attended by Asemgul Kazieva Senior Expert of Direction on Examination of Trademarks and Appellations of Origin of the RSE "NIIP
On 9-13 of December, 2013 the Chief Specialist of Direction on Work with Correspondence, control and information technology of the Branch of RSE "NIIP" of Almaty Medet Zhienkozhanov was trained in Moscow in the Eurasian Patent Organization.
