I. GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN TRADEMARK INFORMATION ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE
The average duration of the examination of applications on trademarks from filing date to the date of taking decisions on refusal or granting of protection of the trademarks in 2013 was 4-5 months (the duration of the examination of applications on trademarks in 2013 was the same as in 2012).
As compared to 1122 applications in 2012 the number of applications filed by national applicants in 2013 has been increased to 1797 decreased by national procedure. As concerns the activity of foreign legal persons it is decreased by national procedure (658 applications in 2012 and 630 applications in 2013).

Matters concerning classifying
(i) Classification and reclassification activities; classification systems used, e.g., International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (Nice Classification), International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks (Vienna Classification), other classification
(ii) Use of electronic classification systems and pre-defined terms of the classification applied
Upon registration of trademarks, goods and services are classified according to the 10-th edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services (Nice Agreement), and figurative elements of trademarks are classified according to the International Classification of Figurative Elements of Marks (Vienna Agreement).
The list of goods and services in the application for registration of trademarks are indicated by the applicant according to ICTS.

Matters concerning processing of different types of non-traditional marks (e.g., three-dimensional, motion, hologram, color mark, etc.)
Regarding to the types of non-traditional marks the Agency processes three-dimensional, sound, holograms, colors marks.

Main type of publication of the Office is trademark applications, which is placed on the Agency's web site (http://www.aipa.am/en/trademark-applications/).
Official Gazettes: main types of announcements, frequency of publication, medium (on paper, on CDs, online, URL), etc.
The bulletin "Applications on Trademarks and Service Marks" and the "Official Bulletin on Industrial property" of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Armenia and placed at the Agency's website (http://www.aipa.am/en/industrial-property/). In 2013 12 issues of the "Official Bulletin on Industrial property" and 24 issues of the "Applications on Trademarks and Service Marks" bulletins were published.

IV. ICT SUPPORT TO SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES RELATED TO TRADEMARK INFORMATION CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE
Specific software tools supporting business procedures within the Office: general description, characteristics, advantages, possible improvements
Web based software application system is used for the workflow of the trademark applications. System is working with Apache Web server, and with FreeBSD operating system. Data stored in SQL server which provides transactions. It has a graphical interface, which is in use in modern web browsers to Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Internet Explorer.

V. PROMOTION ACTIVITIES AIMED TO SUPPORT USERS IN ACCESS AND EFFICIENT USE OF TRADEMARK INFORMATION
Office’s library (if deals with trademark information): equipment, collection management, network of libraries in the country, cooperation with foreign libraries
The Official Bulletins were sent to the Armenian Research Institute of Scientific and Technical Information, libraries of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian State University, the Engineering University, the Armenian Academy of Agriculture, the State Public Library and to the Book Palace of Armenia free of charge. The Official Bulletins were as well sent to the Armenian Marz centers free of charge.
Publications related to different business procedures and trademark information sources available to users, for example, books, brochures, Internet publications, etc.

VI. INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ACTIVITIES IN THE FIELD OF TRADEMARK INFORMATION
According to the preliminary arrangements on patent information exchange, 21 copies of the Official Bulletin were sent to the Patent offices of foreign countries, as well as to WIPO, EPO and EAPO.
